Editorial Principles of Fishery Modernization

I. Plagiarism-Screening Policy
Fishery Modernization, administered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and published by the Fishery Machinery and Instrument Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, is committed to upholding academic integrity and quality. To ensure the originality of all submissions, the editorial office employs the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) “Academic Misconduct Literature Check System for Sci-Tech Journals” (http://check.cnki.net/amlc2/), together with other tools, to detect plagiarism and other forms of misconduct, including but not limited to copying, plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, inappropriate authorship, and duplicate submission.

II. Open-Access Policy
Fishery Modernization is an open-access journal. All articles published since 2016 are permanently available—free of charge and without registration—for reading and downloading on the journal’s official website (https://fm.fmiri.ac.cn/). Articles published prior to 2016 remain under subscription access; full texts are not provided on the journal’s website. Readers who need these earlier articles may search for the full text on CNKI or other licensed databases.

III. Archiving Policy
In addition to the journal’s own website, all historical content is fully archived in CNKI, Wanfang, Wipro, Chaoxing, and other similar platforms, where readers may access articles online. Printed copies of every issue are also delivered to the National Library of China and the China Version Library for long-term preservation.

IV. Conflict-of-Interest Policy
Authors are required to disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the research or its interpretation. This includes:

1. Direct or indirect financial support for the work, beyond the authors’ employing institutions.

2. Any commercial relationships within the immediate or related fields of the research presented.

V. Creative Commons Licensing Policy
Fishery Modernization applies the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0), which permits third parties to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format under the following terms:

1. Users must provide appropriate credit to the original author(s) and indicate the source of the work.

3. Authors retain the right to share and use their article under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.
