This paper aims to culture the grouper on a large scale in the North by constructing recirculating aquaculture system RAS and water source heat pump system for the grouper. The aquaculture system consists of fish tank, curve screen filter, pump, protein skimmer, bio-filter, degassing tank, oxygenation tank, UV light and liquid oxygen station. Aquaculture wastewater treated by the collection and filtration system is used as the source of water source heat pump, and after 2 winters of operation, the average coefficient of performance (COP) of heating in winter is 2.66. In the system, the first batch of Epinephelus coioides grows from 24.41 g to 480.66 g within 11 months, with survival rate above 97%. The second batch of Epinephelus coioides grows from 23.36 g to 400.46 g within 12 months, with survival rate being 84.5%. The Epinephelus fuscoguttatus ♀ ×E. lanceolatus ♂ grows from 48.46 g to 511.36 g within 7 months, with survival rate being 71.24%. The Plectropomus leopardus grows from 41.13 g to 223.56 g within 12 months, with survival rate being 65.52%. The system may maintain a normal growth of Epinephelus coioides, Epinephelus fuscoguttatus ♀ ×E. lanceolatus ♂, Plectropomus leopardus and other varieties throughout the year, and reduce the cost for culturing the grouper.
