An oceangoing Cololabis saira ship was taken as a research object and DNV SESAM was used for long term forecast of sea load on the target ship under fishing and inward bound conditions with or without hauling and for analysis of the effect of outboard hauling on wave load of ship. The 3D finite element model of Cololabis saira ship was established, and the structural strength of the whole ship under inward bound condition with or without hauling was calculated and analyzed with SESTRA based on the design wave method. The results show that: 1) under the selected conditions, the vertical wave bending moment and torque under inward bound condition are greater than those under fishing condition. 2) In terms of structural strength and deformation, the longitudinal strength stress and torsional strength stress of the ship can meet relevant requirements of the code. This paper could provide guidance for outboard hauling of ship, and provide reference for fatigue strength analysis by combining with actual working conditions of ship.
