The research aims to study the safety and the feasibility of application of nano-bubble technology in aquaculture. Nano-bubble generating devices were applied in culture ecosystem of Litopenaeus vannamei, with air blower as control, to comparative study the changes of dissolved oxygen, the physicochemical and biological response and the growth of Litopenaeus vannamei. The result showed that nano-bubbles can effectively improve the concentration of dissolved oxygen in water and maintain it for a longer time. The average concentration of DO was 7.76% higher in nano-bubbles condition than in air blower with significant difference (P<0.05). Nano-bubbles can improve the degradation of organic matter in aquaculture and affect the phytoplankton structure of dominant species. There was no significant difference between the growth and survival rate of shrimps under the two inflatable conditions. The study shows that the nano-bubble technology has a more pronounced effect in improving the dissolved oxygen in aquaculture water, and feasible to be applied in shrimp culture. The nano-bubble technology provides a new idea for the application of new devices for aquaculture.
