In order to provide reference for the research direction of fishing vessels and the formulation and revision of relevant policies and regulations, considering that the analysis of the development of fishing vessels was mostly qualitative description of the basic situation at present, the gill net and trawl ships in coastal area of Zhejiang Province were taken as examples, the coefficients of ship form in 1990-1999, 2000-2009 and 2010-2019 were analyzed and the quantitative calculation and comparison were made on the correlation coefficients of the five indexes of ship form, namely “safety, energy saving, economy, environmental protection, and comfort”, through the calculation of the quantitative indexes in the standard ship form evaluation method, and the overall situation and development trend of offshore fishing vessels were also analyzed. Result shows: except for the performance corresponding to empty ship weight coefficient, fixed ballast coefficient and average stability criterion was slightly degraded, other parameters such as navy coefficient, fish/oil tank volume coefficient and drag coefficient of ship form showed a good situation, and the development trend of ship form was good on the whole.
