In order to explore the effects of different micro diets and different feeding frequencies on the survival and growth of larvae of Schizothorax waltoni, under the conditions of water temperature of 11℃~12℃ and dissolved oxygen of 6.5~7.8 mg/L, the larvae with average body length of 14.45 mm were selected and fed with 6 kinds of micro diets, including spirulina powder, frozen rotifers, Ictalurus punctatus diet, microparticle diet, grass carp diet and fairy shrimp, and then fed with microparticle diet at the frequency of feeding every 2 h, 4 h, 6 h, 8 h, 12 h and 24 h respectively for 42 days. The results showed that the survival rate of the group fed with frozen rotifers was significantly the lowest, and that of the group fed with microparticle diet was significantly the highest (P <0.05); the survival rate of the group fed at the frequency of feeding every 2 h was significantly the lowest, and that of the group fed at the frequency of feeding every 24 h was significantly the highest (P <0.05). The group fed with microparticle diet had the highest full-length growth rate, not significantly different from the groups fed with Ictalurus punctatus diet and grass carp diet (P> 0.05), but significantly higher than the other groups (P <0.05); the growth rate of the groups fed at the frequency of feeding every 12 h and 24 h was significantly higher than that of other groups (P <0.05), with no significant difference between the two groups and no significant difference between the other groups (P> 0.05).Considering the survival rate and growth, it is recommended to select the microparticle diet as micro diet in the early standardized breeding process of larvae of Schizothorax waltoni, and feed at the frequency of feeding every 24 h to get the best effect.
