The reliability of the mooring system is the key performance to ensuring the safety of fishing vessels when they are moored in the harbor to avoid the wind. It is of great significance to improve the safety of fishing vessels by analyzing the force on mooring lines in a typhoon and checking the reliability of the mooring system. Taking the 42 m trawler, which is common and typical in the Shengsi sea area of Zhejiang Province, as a representative ship type, physical model tests were carried out on two types of mooring systems, namely, "two boats straight line mooring" and "two boat splay line mooring". Wind, wave, and current conditions in the harbor were simulated. Through combined tests on different conditions, the various rules of cable tension with wave height, wind speed, and current conditions were obtained, the stress conditions of the two types of mooring were compared, and its security is verified. The results show that under the set typhoon conditions, the two mooring methods can meet the requirements for the safety of fishing boat mooring, and the "two boats splay line mooring" scheme is safer and more stable than the "two boat along line mooring" scheme. The research results can provide support and reference for the design of berthing mode and mooring scheme of fishing vessels in the port.
